Fábio Alves have been playing since 1986 when took some electric bass classes with some local teachers and double bass with Milton Masciadri at OSPA. The studies include festival de Inverno de Santa Maria, Montenegro and University of Georgia (USA). Nowadays Fábio studies double-bass at UFRGS (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul).

Fábio formed and played at bands that had some attention in music scene. The groups: Chamber Orchestra of Caxias do Sul (1991-96), Lucille (1992-99), De Ros (1991-98) and T-Rox (2001-2003).

Also, as a professional musician, Fábio gives bass classes at Centro de Contrabaixo Fábio Alves since 1994. This knowledge gives him the ability to workshop electric bass matters all around.

Fábio released an instrumental album 2004 with Éder Bergozza (keyboard player). The CD Called “2” is a synthesis of all influences as a bass player and filled with bass and keyboard solos.

Now a days Fábio plays with Akashic, which has released two albuns, “Timeless Realm” (2001) and “A Brand New Day” (2005). The band has toured Europe twice (2000 and 2007).

As a double bass player Fábio released “Batedô” (2006) an album with Léo Ferrarini trio and also went to Lapataia Jazz Festival with the Accordion player Oscar dos Reis. Record and plays with artists as an invited musician.
